Hey everyone! I have decided to clear a few things up for the new year to come! I've been feeling conflicted about usage of my music in music games for a little while now, and with the release of GD's 2.2 update and the advent of the new year, I figured now would be a right time to get everything clear once and for all!

Geometry Dash / Newgrounds API usage

First of all: I do NOT consider myself a "Geometry Dash Musician". By this, I mean that GD is in no way my priority when making music, and has never been ; as such, comments asking me for GD usage with nothing else to say are beginning to rub me the wrong way. This post might be able to clear any questionings you might have regarding my music.

This being said, every track I have ever posted on Newgrounds will now be allowed for API usage (changes will be rolling out in the coming week), with the following exceptions :

• A̶n̶y̶ ̶r̶e̶m̶i̶x̶.̶ nevermind remixes are whitelisted now

Anything else is out of the question. Please refrain from using a NONG song of mine in any of your GD levels. If you do, I can't really stop you, but if one of my songs isn't on Newgrounds, it's probably for a good reason.

Usage as part of a soundtrack

If you want to use my music as part of a soundtrack, please contact me and we can discuss the details, but you should know that the answer will most likely be no. I might open commissions for video game soundtracks someday though 🤔

hey! WL here. :)

I'll explain real quick why i made this decision to change my name, and what's coming in the future.

First, my name. I didn't like it. At all. WL is an acronym for a not very good name based on a little pun i made a few years ago, which probably explains why i got tired of it so easily. I changed to SUNSCREECH, and, hopefully, I will not get tired of it so easily. Another reason for this change is that my style has somewhat changed during this year, and I thought it was a good excuse to make that jump now.

Second, what's coming in the future. Music, basically. I've been thinking about this very small worldbuilding around the name SUNSCREECH, and I'll be trying to incorporate it in my visuals for more coherence, hopefully.

Finally, I hope that you like this new name, and that this will make you look forward to what i do in the future. I got plenty unfinished stuff, and some of it will probably be released in the future.

tl;dr I had a creative block and I'm back fresh and will actually change my musical style and maybe change my username

Okay, so I know I haven't been very productive these days, that's mainly because of a kinda big creator block I had in the past few months. I felt like I was doing the same thing over and over again, and I was starving for some fresh ideas. I kinda depleted the "synthwave / melodic dubstep / midtempo" inspiration source if you get what I mean.

But I finally broke free of this uninspirative loop, and I'm back fresh.

I'm going to try achieving a little cleaner sound, but I don't actually know what I'm going to go with for now. Oh, also, expect way less melodic dubstep. I'll experiment over this new year of 2020 and when I have found my new style, I'll maybe change my username. Oh, and my visual aesthetic stuff will probably also change.

Hey'all, I wanted to tell all of you that i'm a little upset because i'm banned from the audio portal for a week. This means that I can't upload any audio for a week. Also, I can't scout anymore, so yeah

I think the reason for all of this is because of the edit of "Disasterpeace - Forgotten" I made as dull_view. Fair enough since I hadn't much transformed the song, but it doesn't make sense, since I have made some remixs of copyrighted songs and haven't got any fucking trouble.

I think I understood that I can't upload remixes of copyrighted work on NG without obvious changes tho, even if i find that kinda sad.

I hope that my scout ability will someday be retablished, and yeah cya in a week i guess
